"Web language" isn't an established technical term. We're using it as a catch-all category to encapsulate a set of languages that serve various web-related technical purposes.

Types

• Markup Languages. Protocols for formatting your web output for presentation to your users.
• Scripting Languages. An interpreter indirectly runs your source code, so you don't need to compile and link your source code files into machine code to run your programs.
• Programming Languages. You need to compile and link your source code files into machine code files before running them.
• Style Sheet Languages. Computer languages that express the presentation of structured documents.
